Adoption Success Stories!

Happy New Beginnings.

Our Favorite Part.

Amazing People Making Second Chances Possible.

We have one goal for every dog that crosses our path: to find their forever home. These wonderful individuals stepped up and offered our angels the second chance we promised them. To the adopters and to our fosters who make this possible we say "Thank You!"

Snickers - Adopted 12/22/2023

Snickers and 6 other toy poodles joined the haven a little over two months ago. They each needed patience, love, confidence and to learn to trust people. And they each have made leaps and bounds.

We are thankful to Snickers foster home for providing the safety and patience she needed to have all of her vetting completed while she awaited her time to prance off into the sunset with her forever family.

We are so grateful to her new family for choosing to open their home and hearts and adopting an Angel in need. Snickers, now Daisy, has two parents who already love her extremely much, a full sized pood brother to show her the ropes… and she’s going to live at the beach. We’re pretty sure she couldn’t ask for much more in life and will have the best life ever. We wish all of you an every day full of sunshine, beauty, love and laughter.

Happy tails, sweet girl. You are loved!

Skylar - Adopted 12/21/2023

Skyler arrived at the Haven mid-November from a situation in which he was not being taken care of properly.

He immediately went into his foster to adopt home and has spent a little over a month having his ear infections cleared up, working on some food allergies, and learning some proper etiquette and manners. He’s only a year old, so still has a lot to learn, but has made tremendous strides.

Today, Skyler, now Harper, and his foster mama decided to make it official. His adoption is final! We are so thankful that his family decided to open their hearts and home to loving an Angel in need, especially since they recently lost their other golden who crossed the bridge after a long and happy life. He has a wonderful set of parents, and even gets to go to work with his mom! He will finish up all of his vetting next month with his neuter surgery and then he can be free and clear to enjoy each and every moment of his new life with the parents who love him beyond belief. We wish you all the best, every day filled with laughter and happiness and so much love you can’t stand it.

Happy tails, handsome boy! You are so loved!

Lyndi - Adopted 12/20/2023

Beautiful Lyndi signed her paperwork today and adopted herself a forever mama!

Lyndi arrived to the haven in Mid November and went right to her foster to adopt home. She’s spent the last month getting acquainted with her new fur brothers, her new mama, getting some vetting done and learning more about the world and gaining confidence. She’s a shy gal, but is the sweetest little nugget.

We are so thankful to her mom for choosing to open her heart and home to adopting another Angel in need. Lyndi joins another of our Angels, Roman, and their bigger brother Brady, who both will keep her busy, happy, entertained and teach her all the doggo things she needs to learn. We are grateful for her mom for wanting to love her the rest of her days, and wish each of them the absolute best life, with all the love and happiness they can handle.

Happy tails, sweet girl! You are so loved!

Cheech - Adopted 12/16/2023

Cheech had his final Christmas wish come true today too! He got to go to his forever home! They’ve been patiently waiting for a month for him to get his last vaccine boosters so that he could finally come home! And it’s not only his gotcha day, it’s his dad’s birthday!

We are so thankful to his foster home for providing him the safety, love and kindness he needed while he received his vetting, learned a few tricks and manners and waited to go to his new home. Without fosters who love these dogs as their own, they don’t stand a chance at finding their happily ever afters.

We are so grateful to his new family for choosing to open their hearts and home to adopting an Angel in need. Cheech has a mom and dad who are thrilled to have him enter their lives, a human brother, and two kitty siblings. We wish all of them the absolute best life together, filled with love, laughter and so so many memories and adventures.

Happy tails handsome. You are so loved!

Ghost - Adopted 12/15/2023

Ghost joined us early in the summer. He spent the last 5 months in his foster home being loved, learning kindness, being cherished. Being worked with to learn tricks and commands, living with kids who have adored him and treated him as a member of the family, with a mom and dad who showed him appreciation and gentleness, something he should have experienced the first 5 years of his life, but did not. His foster family made up for his life prior though, and we and he will be forever grateful to them.

We are so thankful to his new mom for choosing to open her home and heart and adopting this Angel in need. Ghost now has a mom and a grandma he will live with, be spoiled by, and will continue to be loved and cherished for all the rest of his days. As a bonus, he only lives a few miles from his foster family and will continue to see them. We are so happy for this boy and his new mom and wish them as much love and joy as their hearts can handle.

Have the best life, handsome boy. You are so loved!

Wren - Adopted 12/11/2023

Wren and her siblings were born to sweet Avaley on July 28. They had the easiest birth we’ve ever had in this rescue, and they themselves were the easiest litter we’ve ever had…. So much so, that I thought something was wrong and didn’t know what to do with myself and kept waiting for the shoe to drop. It never did.

Wren was the spunkiest of the girls, the most brave, the first to learn to climb on furniture, the first to walk out the front door without needing coaxed, and the first to tell everyone what she thought. Despite this, we knew she would need another dog in her forever home because just like every one of her siblings, these puppies absolutely adore other dogs. They light up with joy and excitement and they learn from them too.

Wren spent the last few months while she awaited her perfect family, working on perfecting her cuddling and snuggling skills, learning to greet people with pizazz, and learning some basic training. And today, her day finally came.

We are so thankful to her forever family for choosing to open their home and hearts to adopting an Angel in need. Wren has a wonderful mom and dad, and an older furbrother to wear out, and who will continue to teach her all the dog ways of life. We wish all of you the absolute best and most joy and love that this life can bring you.

Happiest tails, sweetest girl. You are so very loved!

Denali - Adopted 12/3/2023

Denali came to us from a breeding farm (that has since been disbanded) having very little socialization besides with other animals. She had no prior vetting, no prior grooming. She was completely matted (huge thanks to Taylor of Prim & Proper Dog Boarding and Grooming for getting her all fixed up!) and smelled like a hamster. She had ear infections. She had awful skin. She never had a life that all dogs should experience, one filled with love. But she will never know that life again.

We are so grateful to her foster home for providing her with safety, security, patience, love and giving her the structure she needed to begin being a dog.

Denali now has a wonderful mom and dad, and a fur brother to spend her days playing with and living life the way she always should have. She is not quite done with her vetting, so you’ll see her again when her spay surgery is being performed, but now, she’s home. We wish you all so much happiness, laughter and love to fill your every day.

Happy tails sweet girl, you are so loved!

Wednesday - Adopted 11/30/2023

Wednesday came to us extremely thin and with a pretty nasty case of “happy tail.” Meaning her tail smacked off of things so hard that it busted open and kept getting reinfected. She had her tail partially amputated and hasn’t had an issue since. She also worked on a refeed program and slowly but surely gained about 20 lbs! She’s at her ideal weight, she’s happy, and now she has her forever. She’s a goofy girl, full of pep and who loves to play but also loves to be a lap dog. But we couldn’t have done any of that and gotten her well without her foster mom, who we are so extremely grateful for, opening her door, giving her a safe space and caring for and loving her.

We are so thankful to her new family for choosing to open their home and hearts and adopting an Angel in need. Wednesday has a great dad and mom, a human brother, and a fur brother named Tuna to spend her days playing with and enjoying this life with. We wish all of you every ounce of laughter, joy and love that this life can bring you.

Happiest tails, sweet girl! You are so loved!

Ivy - Adopted 11/28/2023

Ivy came to us on July 1. She spent months learning proper play with other dogs, learning to live in a home, learning boundaries and learning how to just be a dog.

We are so thankful to her foster home for providing her safety, comfort and love while she finished up her vetting and awaited her happily ever after.

We are so grateful to her new mom for choosing to open her home and heart to adopting an Angel in need. Her mom recently lost her girl to lymphoma and knew there was another dog who needed and deserved a chance to be loved and cherished for all of her days. That dog was lucky enough to be Ivy. We wish you both all the joy and love that love can bring you.

Happiest tails beautiful, girl. You are so very loved!

Lincoln - Adopted 11/27/2023

Lincoln arrived to the Haven in late September. He arrived extremely thin, some much needed weight to gain. But his cartoonish looks and personality quickly won us all over.

Lincoln underwent lots of bloodwork, urinalysis, and additional testing to make sure nothing was preventing him from weight gain, and then he and his foster got to work on a refeed program.

We are so thankful to say that this boy is now at a weight he needs to be at. It took two months, but he has gained 13 pounds, some muscle, is now healthy and happy, and this boy is so over the moon with his foster family that he decided to keep them forever.

We are so thankful to his family for opening their doors to their home and hearts to fostering him, and falling so in love with him that they could not deny his desire to make it a permanent situation. He has an amazing mom and dad, and joins two Angel alumni fursisters—Arrayah and Harley. We know he will be absolutely loved beyond words, and will always be cherished as his sisters are. We wish all of you every good moment life can bring, and a life filled with laughter and love.

Happiest tails handsome boy. You are incredibly loved!

Mary Puppins - Adopted 11/27/2023

Mary Puppins waited until right after turkey day to go to her forever home, because she wanted to make sure that she got a little extra love from her foster home before going in for seconds from her forever.

She came up from SC, went through heartworm treatment and spent the last few months learning how to play, be a dog, getting her vet care, and being fully loved by her foster. Whom We are so grateful to for allowing this beauty to be safe and cared for until her forever found her.

We are so thankful to her forever mom for choosing to open her home and heart and adopting an Angel in need. Puppins has not just her mom, but a few extra housemates to dote upon her as she settles and adjusts to the life she’s always dreamed of and deserved. We wish nothing but happiness, love and laughter to you both for the rest of your days.

Happy tails sweet girl. You are so loved!

Petey - Adopted 11/22/2023

Petey arrived to the haven in September, got his vaccines all updated and began meds for heartworm treatment. He received his first injection two weeks ago and will get his next set in a few weeks and then settle in until he gets the all clear and free from heartworm!

We are so grateful to his foster home for providing him a safe space to heal, to learn to be a part of a home and family and for loving him while he awaited the people meant for him.

We are so thankful to his forever family for choosing to open their home and hearts and adopting an angel in need, and being willing to do so while he is still undergoing his heartworm treatment. He has a wonderful pair of parents, two human sisters and a doggo sibling and kitty sibling at home that he can’t wait to play with once he’s all healed up. Thank you for making sure his next holiday is spent with a family and willing to have the love and patience he’ll need the next month and a half. We wish all of you the very best life together that this world has to offer.

Happiest tails sweet boy. You are loved!

Lark - Adopted 11/19/2023

Lark is one of our Chicklet pups born to mama Avaley at the end of July. She has spent the last 3.5 months learning how to be a puppy, learning basic commands, being loved and adored and learning how to become a champion cuddler, snuggler and all around good girl.

We are grateful to her foster home for taking in her mama, seeing her through their birth, and ensuring that every puppy was healthy, happy, well adjusted, loved and ready to take on the world with their forever homes.

We are so thankful to her new family for choosing to open their home and hearts to adopting another Angel in need. Lark has a wonderful mom and dad, some kitty siblings and also an older furbrother and fursister who are also Angel alums. Lark joins Remi (formerly Joey) and Rayne (formerly Jane from the Jetson litter).

We wish all of you all the blessings, laughter, joy, happiness and love that this life can bring your way.

Happiest tails, sweet girl. You are so very loved.

Jasper - Adopted 11/18/2023

Jasper, his mom and his siblings came to us after we were made aware of the neglectful, atrocious situation they had been living in. He spent the next 2.5 months getting all of his vetting completed, learning how to be a dog who had the comforts of a home, and being loved by his foster mom.

We are so thankful to his foster for providing him a safe place to be cared for and adored while he finished his vet care and awaited his forever home. Without fosters who selflessly give their hearts, their home and their time to these kiddos, we can’t do all that we do.

We are so grateful to his new family for choosing to open their home and hearts and adopting an Angel in need. Jasper has a mom, a dad, and two human kiddos to grow with. We wish all of you a lifetime filled with joy, happiness and so much love and laughter.

Happy tails handsome boy. You are so loved!

Skittles - Adopted 11/15/2023

Skittles came to the haven with six other toy poodles about 6 weeks ago.

She’s been working hard on her house training, learning to be a dog and learning how to trust people. Today, she and her foster to adopt home made it official—she is staying!

We are thankful to her new family for choosing to open their home and hearts to fostering this little soul until she was ready to finalize her place forever. She has several dog siblings and cat siblings to keep her company and continue to teach her what life is all about.
We wish you all the best as you continue through this life together.

Happy tails little one! You are loved!

Jewel - Adopted 11/13/2023

Jewel is one of our 101 hound litter who came to us late this summer after living in an unsanitary and neglectful conditions.

She’s spent the last couple of months learning how to dog, learning how to live in a home and receiving her vetting. She got spayed last week and was finally cleared to make the trip to her forever home!

We are thankful to her foster family for allowing her the safety and security of their home, and giving her love and care until she found her people.

We are so grateful to her new family for choosing to open their home and hearts to adopting an Angel in need. Jewel has a mom and dad, and a big doggo brother to continue to show her the ropes—and she hopes all the toys!

Happy tails sweet girl! You are loved!

Pongo - Adopted 11/11/2023

Little Pongo is one of our 101 hound puppies who came to the haven late this summer. They came from a very less than ideal living situation and needed to learn everything and receive all vetting.

We are so thankful to his foster for allowing him a space to learn, grow, be cared for and loved while he finished up all of his vet visits and waited for his forever home.

We are so very grateful to his new family for choosing to open their home and hearts to adopting an Angel in need. Pongo will have the king seat in the house and rule over his kingdom, which will consist of a wonderful mom and dad and he’ll have a human sister to spoil him occasionally too!

We wish all of you more joy, laughter and love than your heart can handle.

Happy tails, sweet fella! You are so loved!

Reese - Adopted 11/10/2023

Reese was one of seven toy poodles who joined us six weeks ago. He, like the others, are shy and timid at first, but once he learned he was safe at his fosters home he began to open up, start to play and enjoy his life. He is still afraid of outside from time to time and will need continued work on feeling safe and confident, but he has the perfect people to help him with that—his new forever family!

We are so thankful to his foster for providing him a safe, stable environment to receive the vetting he needed, to work with him on opening up, and for caring for him while he waited for his happily ever after.

We are so grateful to his new family for opening their home and hearts and adopting another Angel in need. Reese joins a great mom and dad, but also a fur brother and a fur sister who is also an Angel alum.

Happy tails, handsome boy! You are loved!!

Moo Moo - Adopted 11/3/2023

Today was a day we’ve been waiting for, for 485 days. Long term resident MooMoo finally found her Prince Charming, got adopted and now has a forever of her very own.

MooMoo came to us at under a year old, with two previously badly broken back legs. Both had begun healing without medical care, but one was so damaged it had to be removed.

We are so thankful to her foster family for keeping her safe and loved the last year and four months. They have seen her through her amputation surgery, two sets of yearly vaccinations, and a spay surgery. They have shown her kindness, structure and above all love.

We are so grateful to her new dad for choosing once again to open his heart and home and adopting an Angel in need. Not only has he given Moo the home she has deserved and been waiting for, but earlier this year he adopted Another long term resident, Patches. And while both don’t meet dogs well, they both had the privilege of being fostered together in the same home here at the Haven, and even though some months have passed, they re-met each other several times over the last few weeks and picked up like no time had passed. MooMoo will share her forever home with the brother she came to the Haven with. Her foster brother, is now her forever brother. And we couldn’t be more thrilled for either of them.

Also a huge thank you shout out to Cheddar Paws Dog Art for painting a portrait of MooMoo to help raise awareness for this beautiful soul and for her forever family to keep.

We wish you all a very blessed, happy, and love filled life. Happy tails sweet girl. You are so very loved!

Roo - Adopted 10/31/2023

Roo joined us late summer. She’s a 9 year old gal who unfortunately was living in a really rough situation, and had given birth to 9 pups. No dog should be living in the situation she was, and she should have never had pups, especially at 9 years old.

Thankfully; we were able to find her and her kiddos foster homes, and they’ve been receiving and completing their vetting and frolicking off to their forevers.

Today was Roo’s turn. Roo is now living with new pawrents, and also now has two elderly caregivers to keep her company through their golden years. Roo will very rarely ever be home alone. She’s got the perfect blend of calm chillness, yet youthful spunk to keep both sets of her family members entertained and company.

We wish all of you the absolute most love and joy that your hearts can handle. Happy tails, sweet mama. You are so very loved.

Talon - Adopted 10/28/2023

Talon and his 5 brothers and sisters were born at the end of July to Avaley, who had recently joined the Haven after being found as a stray in SC. She gave birth within a week of arrival, and Talon has spent the last 13 weeks being adored, loved on, learning how to puppy, and waiting for his family to find him and bring him home.

Today, Talon got to go home. We are so thankful to his new family for choosing to open their home and hearts and adopting an Angel in need. Talon has a wonderful mom and dad, an older fur sister, and a Hooman brother so he gets to spend his life filled with exploration, adventure and above all, love.

We wish all of you every ounce of happiness, laughter and so much love you can’t stand it. Happy tails, biggie handsome boy, you are so very loved!

Dove - Adopted 10/24/2023

Dove is one of the six Chicklet pups born to Mama Avaley at the end of July. Dove is as sweet as pie, sassy when she needs to be, as cuddly as they come and so patient and smart. She quickly won over the hearts of her foster parents from day one, and will remain in their hearts for the rest of all the days. The Chicklets have begun slowly leaving the nest, and Dove has patiently awaited her turn to soar. Today was that day.

We are so thankful to her new family for choosing to open their home and hearts and adopting another Angel in need. They recently said goodbye to their boy, Trigger, and knew that he would want them to allow another baby into their life and give them the love they still have to share in his memory. Dove has some amazing parents and her new mom spends a great deal of time volunteering to help dogs find homes. She has two human brothers who will love her completely. And she has a fur sister, Willow, who “paw picked” her to join their family. Willow is an Angel alum, and is the sister of resident Clover. We are thrilled and so happy that she will have a new Angel Sister to keep company and on her toes for the rest of her days.

We wish all of you all of the love, joy and laughter life can bring your way. Happy tails, sweetest girl. You are so very loved!

Twix - Adopted 10/22/2023

Little Twix is another of the seven poodles who recently joined us. She’s a bit shy, but once she opens up, she’s a sweet little girl who would just like to be loved and adored.

We are so grateful to her foster home for giving her the opportunity to be loved and cared for while she received her initial vetting and waited for her family to spot her. Without foster homes, we can not help any of these dogs.

We are so thankful to her new parents for choosing to open their home and hearts and adopting an Angel in need. Twix joins their wonderful family and several other poodle mixes and will have the best time living life the way she deserves to. Happy, filled with adventure and love, and being cherished.

Happiest tails to you little one, you are so loved!

Pax - Adopted 10/22/2023

Pax joined us from SC this summer. The shelter was full so he was lucky enough to find a temporary foster home to await a rescue to give him a chance. And when we saw him, we knew he deserved that chance. So he hoped the bus to PA to join one of our fosters here.

We are so thankful to his foster homes there and here for providing him the comfort and love while he finished up all of his vetting needs and awaited the home meant to be his.

He went to meet his new family last weekend, did absolutely wonderful with their children and their two other dogs, and so today, they made it official! We are so thankful to his new home for opening their home and hearts and adopting an Angel in need. Pax has a wonderful family who already adore him and are prepared to give him the time and tools he needs to settle in and realize he belongs with them.

Happy tails, handsome boy. You are so loved!!

Lola - Adopted 10/22/2023

Little Lola is one of the seven toy poodles who recently joined the Haven.

She went into a foster home to experience love and kindness while receiving her initial vet care. She has been doing wonderfully acclimating to a new environment, new dogs and new people. We are so thankful to her foster for providing her safety and comfort while she awaited her forever.

We are extremely grateful to her new family for choosing to open their home and hearts and adopting an Angel in need. They have extensive poodle experience and she now has an amazing mom and dad, and a mini poodle sister to continue to show her this journey through life. We have no doubt she will be treated like the princess she deserves to be.

Happy tails, sweet girl! You are so very loved!

Finch - Adopted 10/12/2023

Finch was one of six Chicklets born to our mama Avaley on July 28. As they all are, he is affectionate and sweet, social and well rounded. He was a brave, curious and sweet guy from the get go and hasn’t changed much! He loves other dogs but often entertains himself, and is always a happy boy!

We are so thankful for his new family for choosing to open their home and hearts to adopting another Angel in need. Finch not only has two wonderful dads, but he has two other brothers previously adopted from Abby’s—Harry from our home alone litter, and Mac a former breeding Pomeranian, as well as a rescued big sister, a Newfoundland-poodle mix named Nicks. We know that he will have the very best life, be so completely adored, and he has built in best friends! We could not be happier for him and his new family and wish them all the love and laughter this life can bring.

Happy tails sweetest boy! You are so very, very loved!

Goose - Adopted 10/9/2023

Goose was one of six Chicklets born to our mama Avaley on July 28. As they all are, he is affectionate and sweet, social and well rounded. He seemed to be a fan favorite from the get go, but we are so happy he found his forever mom!

We are so thankful for his new mom for choosing to open her home and heart to adopting an Angel in need. She recently lost her heart dog, but before he crossed the bridge, he led her to this sweet boy to keep her company, to give her comfort and to bring a little extra joy to her heart. Goose, now Cobain, has two beautiful pittie sisters who are well versed in welcoming new dogs to their home, because they and their mom have been a foster to hundreds of pitbulls over the last decade. We can not wait to watch him flourish under their loving paws, and under the guidance of their mom, who has changed and saved so many lives. We wish you the utmost love, happiness and laughter that life can bring you.

Happy tails sweetest boy! You are so very, very loved!

Zina - Adopted 10/8/2023

Zina came from our shelter partner in SC about 6 weeks ago after being found as a stray. She spent the last month and a half getting all her vetting done and also learning how to live in a home, and gaining confidence. This girl came to PA and would pancake to the ground when a leash was clipped to her collar, and today she strolled up and down the sidewalk with her head held high, ready to see the sights!

We are so thankful to her foster family for providing her with safety, security and so much love and comfort so that she could be ready for her next step in life. We can’t do what we do without the selflessness of our fosters.

We are so grateful to her new dad for choosing to open his home and heart and adopting an Angel in need. She will be queen of her castle and we have no doubt they will be joined at the hip for all the days to come. She also has a Doggo friend to begin taking daily walks with.

We wish the both of you every happiness, success, and all the love this life can bring your way.

We are so thankful to her fosters for allowing her the safety of their home while she learned to be loved, and was cared for and finished up her vetting. Foster patience and love is the most important step for our dogs before finding their furever families.

We are so grateful to her new mom for choosing to open her home and heart and adopting an Angel in need. Laurel will have the best time with all of her attention and also has some dog friends down the block. We wish both of you all the happiness and love that life can bring your way.

Cora - Adopted 10/2/2023

On April 12, the phone rang in our office. I answered and it was a man on the verge of tears. He was homeless, had lived the last 6.5 years traveling the country, hopping trains with his faithful companion Cora. Cora was a GSD he rescued in Arizona from some kids being neglectful, throwing rocks at her. They spent the next years roaming the country, every state. But Cora started showing signs of arthritis, and was slowing down. And he searched the internet, saw Abby’s by chance, and took several weeks to make his way to us, walking across Pennsylvania. He was walking to our office with her and asked if we could please possibly help her. He didn’t have the means, and she deserved more care than he could give her. He himself, was not mentally sound, was looking for help, and had an injury that had become infected. I told him to keep coming our way.

I immediately called one of my right hand fosters, Kelli, who has an unmatched love of the shep family and said, “you can say no….” and explained the situation. She didn’t hesitate. And hasn’t one day since.

When he arrived with Cora, we went out to meet them. He said that the only thing he wanted was for us to care for her and find her a family or person who will love her for the rest of her days. We told him we had her, we would take care of her, and we would find her the best home.

We also offered him help. We took him to the hospital to be checked in, we called mental health to try to secure a bed. We got job offers from our wonderful community and even had donations to get him a place to stay. Unfortunately, mental health had no immediate bed openings, and he left the hospital. He sent a text thanking us for helping and being so kind, but he couldn’t sit in one spot or the darkness would start creeping in. So to please just find her the best life possible.

So we had Cora vetted. Her vaccines. X-rays. Bloodwork. We had her treated for Lyme. She started on joint support supplements and anti-inflammatory meds. And she began working on losing weight. Cora weighed 109 lbs when she came into our care. She lost over 30 lbs.

Today, the girl who struggled to get around is long gone. Today, she runs, she plays, she gets two walks a day. She is strong. She has thrived. She has learned to live in a home. She is happy and healthy.

I, and we, can never thank her foster home enough for everything she has done for this beautiful girl. She gave her a chance on a whim, and as a result, changed this girls life and gave her so much more longevity. We are truly grateful for the love, care, dedication and work that she has provided Cora. She kept the promise she made, so that I could keep the promise I made to her dad.

Today, she found her home. Cora, though I’m sure she will never forget her first dad and will love him until the end of her days and be thankful to him for saving her-twice, now has her second chance at life with a new dad. Her new dad lost his beloved GSD two weeks ago. And when he saw Cora, he knew she was meant for him. Together, they will form a new bond. Together, they will navigate this life of loss, and turn it into love and comfort. Together, they will find their happily ever afters. We are so thankful to him for choosing to adopt an Angel in need, and for being able to open his heart to another girl who needs him.

We wish both of you every ounce of love, laughter and adventure that can come your way.

Happy tails, Cora. You are loved more than you’ll ever know!

Otis - Adopted 10/2/2023

Our Monday began with little Otis getting to go to his forever home! You may recognize him by the post about him being a little terror, don’t let his innocence fool you  He has been doing better and we made sure that his new family was made aware of his quirks and behaviors and are ready and willing to give him all the time and patience and training he deserves.

We are so thankful to his foster family for allowing him the safety of their home and giving him care and showing him love and kindness while he awaited his furever.

We’re so grateful to his new family for choosing to open their home and hearts and adopting an Angel in need. Otis has some fursiblings to annoy and some human kids to train. All kidding aside, we think he is just what they need and they are just what he needs and we wish them all the happiness, laughter and joy that this life has to offer.

Happy tails little one! You are loved!

Milo - Adopted 10/1/2023

Little Milo recently joined us after being stuffed and rolled into some insulation and shoved under a trailer with his siblings. They have found homes and today, was his turn!

We are so thankful to Milo’s foster for giving him the patience, kindness and care he needed and being the stepping stone on his journey to his forever.

We are so grateful to Milo’s new dad, for choosing to open his home and heart and adopting an Angel in need. Milo will have the best life and be doted upon incessantly. We wish both of you all the love and happiness that this life can bring you.

Happy tails, sweet boy. You are loved

Levin - Adopted 9/28/2023

Levin came from SC about 5 weeks ago to start his journey in a new life with a better chance at love and forever. He went into his foster home, who we are eternally grateful for, and began working on his basic commands, training and being a dog. And he surpassed our expectations. He’s the most perfect little man.

We are so thankful for his new family for choosing to open their home and hearts to adopting an Angel in need. Levin now has a wonderful mom and dad and a few fur siblings to continue to teach him the ropes. We know that he’ll be the most amazing addition to their family and that they have the dedication he needs to be exactly who he’s been waiting for.

Happy tails sweetest boy! You are so loved!

Horace - Adopted 9/17/2023

Horace is one of our hound puppies who was taken from a very less than desirable living situation with his mother and siblings. They all came to the haven in need of dire medical care-burned paw pads, infested with fleas and parasites, awful skin and scabs, and afraid of the world.

Thankfully, they each had fosters willing to give them a chance to learn how life should be and to care properly for them.

We are so thankful to Horace’s foster for allowing him a safe place to learn how to be a puppy, for providing him a safe place and for showing him love. Without fosters, many dogs don’t get that chance.

We are so grateful to his new family, for once again choosing to open their home and hearts and adopting another Angel in need. Horace has two older doggo siblings now, one our very own Rock, and two parents who will make sure he has the best life he could dream of.

We wish each of you all the joy, laughter, and love that life can bring your way. Happy tails, handsome man, you are loved

Belle - Adopted 9/17/2023

Belle came to us a few months ago and went to her forever home pretty quickly as a foster to adopt, but it wasn’t until today that we were able to finalize her adoption.

Belle was a surrender with two of her daughters who already got their forevers. We are thankful to her foster home and then her foster to adopt home for opening their doors and allowing her a place to stay while she finished her vetting.

We are so grateful to her mom for opening her home and heart to adopting another Angel in need. She previously adopted a little chi named Taco from the Haven. Belle and Taco are best buddies, along with another doggo brother and some kitties.

We wish all of you the happiest life imaginable.

Happy tails sweet girl, you are loved!

Jewel - Adopted 9/10/2023

Jewel is also a part of our 101 hound puppies that came from living in their own filth. She, her siblings and their mom joined us a few weeks ago and have been working hard on learning to be dogs, getting healthy and learning love.

We are so grateful to her foster home for giving her a safe place to heal and learn to be a puppy, while also giving her a good foundation with other animals and children.

We are so thankful to her new family for opening their home and hearts and adopting an Angel in need. She has some amazing parents and three human kiddos to call her very own. We wish all of you a blessed, happy and long, healthy life together!

Happy tails, sweet girl! You are loved!

Jasper - Adopted 9/10/2023

Jasper is part of our 101 hound litter who was living in deplorable conditions before coming to the Haven. He and his siblings have spent the last few weeks settling in and learning how to be dogs.

We are so thankful to his foster, who gave him a safe space to be cared for and loved, to live how dogs should, while he awaited his family.

We are so grateful to his new family for choosing to open their home and hearts and adopting an Angel in need. Jasper has a mom and dad, a human sibling and some kitty siblings to keep him on his paws and show him love for the rest of his days.

We wish all of you as much joy and love as you can handle on this journey together.

Happy tails sweet boy! You are loved!

Pax - Adopted 9/9/2023

Pax arrived from SC five weeks ago and spent that time settling in to his foster, getting updated vaccines, healing a skin infection and then having his neuter surgery. You probably don’t really know him and haven’t seen him much, but that’s because he’s had an adopter waiting for him to be ready to come home since the week he arrived, he just needed to finish his vetting first.

We are so thankful to his foster for providing a loving and safe space to adjust, heal and get ready for his new family.

We are so grateful to his new mom for choosing to open her home and heart and adopting an Angel in need. Pax now has a very wonderful and caring mom and a fur sister to spend his days romping with. We wish the three of you all the happiness and love that life can bring your way.

Happy tails, handsome! You are loved!

Jackson - Adopted 9/5/2023

Jackson came from a hoarding situation in NC about 6 weeks ago. He and his house mates made the trip from NC to The Mia Foundation - Love For Mia and their coordinator reached out to see if we had room for this sweet fella.

Jackson had never stepped foot on grass before he was rescued, and now, he loves to run on it. He made huge strides from the terrified little guy who shut down when he arrived, to a playful, sweet and attention seeking young lad.

We are so grateful to his fosters for providing him with safety, security, kindness and love while he got much needed vet care and awaited his forever home.

We are so thankful to his new family for choosing to open their hearts and home and adopting an Angel in need. Jackson has a wonderful mom and dad, and four chihuahua siblings to spend his day romping with. We wish all of you all of the happiness and love that life can bring your way.

Happy tails, sweet boy. You are loved

Fern - Adopted 9/5/2023

Little Fern’s come a long way! From being abandoned in a crate with no shelter or supplies to live in the middle of nowhere, to hitting the jackpot with a foster family who said Yes to allowing her to land safely there and now to a family who will give her all she could ever dream of.

We are so thankful to her foster for allowing her a place to be loved, cared for and receive the vetting she needed to start her journey to a better life!

We are so grateful to her new family for choosing to open their hearts and home and adopting an Angel in need. Fern has a doggo sibling and a wonderful mom and dad who began spoiling her before she even officially joined them. We wish all of you the absolute best that life can bring your way, and a lifetime of love and joy.

Happy tails sweet girl! You are so loved!

Anita - Adopted 9/2/2023

Sweetest little Anita recently joined us with her 7 brothers and sisters, after starting off her life living in deplorable conditions that no dog should ever be living in. We scrambled and found fosters for all the pups, secured a temp home for the mother and began getting each cleaned up, nails trimmed, bellies dewormed, vaccines started… and most importantly, teaching them love, affection and how dogs are supposed to live life—in homes who adore them.

We are so thankful to her foster for opening her door to this sweet kiddo so that we could get her into a safe situation where she could be cared for and loved while she awaited a forever.

We are so grateful to her new family for choosing to open their home and hearts and adopting an Angel in need. Anita now has a wonderful mom and dad, and some kitty AND human siblings who didn’t know that their mom and dad were surprising them and that they would meet their newest best friend today. They were so beyond overjoyed that she is now family.

We wish all of you the absolute most joy and happiness, and all the love that your hearts can handle.

Happy tails, sweet girl. You are so loved!

Arlo - Adopted 8/26/2023

Handsome boy Arlo came up from South Carolina in July to search for his forever home, and today he found them!

Arlo will still be undergoing heartworm treatment, but will be doing so with the comfort of his very own home. He’s been a perfect boy since he arrived—polite, sweet, well mannered and adorable.

We are so thankful to his foster home for providing a safe place for him to receive love and kindness while having his vetting completed and awaiting his forever.

We are so grateful to his new family for choosing to open their home and hearts to adopting an Angel in need. Arlo has a wonderful mom and dad, some human siblings and also a doggo sibling and a kitty sibling as well! We wish each one of you the very best and a life filled with more love and joy than you could dream of.

Happy tails, handsome boy. You are loved!

Sham - Adopted 8/22/2023

Sweet little Sham made the trip to the Haven just shy of two months ago. She and her brother hopped a plane (or three) from Mississippi to PA after being found yellow and spray painted in a field.

Her picture was seen, and she reminded us so much of resident Clover 🍀, how could we ever say no?

She spent the last two months in her foster home being pretty much perfection. She’s learned a ton, has become a social girl who has such a love of life, and she is quite simply, an amazing little gal. She spent many days at our office (until a foster sibling had puppies!) and those she didn’t, she worked on learning the ways of “da Clove.” And she’s been an excellent student. She is polite, sweet, and we knew she would find a home that would cherish her as much as we do.

We are thankful to say she’s found them. Sham has some wonderful new parents, some human siblings, and even a doggo sister she is already following around. We could not be more thankful that they chose to open their home and hearts to adopting this Angel in need.

We hope you have the happiest, best life you could ever dream of, beautiful girl. You are so very loved 💜

Miracle - Adopted 8/9/2023

Miracle arrived in March and patiently waited through heartworm treatment, being spayed, some skin irritations and infections, and learning basic house manners. She is one of the friendliest and sweetest girls and did amazing throughout her entire vetting and adjustment period. The only thing she had left, was to find a home.

Today she did just that.

We are so thankful to her foster family for providing her with all of the care, love and kindness she needed to help her become a healthy and happy girl who just needed a family of her own. Without our foster homes, we can not find forever homes for any of our Angels.

We are so grateful to her new home for choosing to open their home and hearts and adopting an Angel in need. Miracle has two human siblings, a wonderful mom, and a fur brother as well to show her all the love she’s gone her wanted for the rest of her days. We wish all of you every joy and all the laughter that life can bring your way.

Happy tails, sweet girl. You are loved! ♥️

Pawblo - Adopted 8/6/2023

Little Pawblo was a puppy who was seized by one of our shelter partners and they found he had a broken jaw so put out a plea to help. How could we say no to this sweetest little Pawcasso?

While Pawblo’s jaw is still healing, he is doing phenomenally and was more than ready for his forever family to help him paint 🎨 what his future from here on out would look like.

We are so thankful to his foster moms, while his stay was brief, without them immediately saying yes, he would not have had the opportunity for his mom and dad to find him. We appreciate the care, love and kindness they showed while he stole their hearts.

We are so grateful to his new family for choosing to open their home and hearts and adopting an Angel in need. Pawblo has some kitty siblings he will be more than happy to play with 😉 and two amazing parents who already seem to adore him.

We wish all of you the absolute most amazing life and all the joy your hearts can handle.

Happy tails, sweet Pawblo! You are loved! ♥️

Ebony - Adopted 7/30/2023

Ebony made the trip from Alabama to Pennsylvania with quite a few others at the very beginning of July. She arrived with a few skin issues and needing to gain a few pounds but overall was the happiest, sweetest girl she could be.

She finished up all her vetting last week, and today got to go to her forever home!

We are so thankful to her foster family for providing her with a safe and warm home to be loved it, to be cared for, to be prepared for her forever in. She won over all of their hearts and ours, and proved that she was such an easy going little love bug.

We are so grateful to her new family for opening their home and hearts and adopting an Angel in need. Ebby has some human siblings and a wonderful mom and dad to give her the very best life she could ever long for. She will be doted on and cherished always.

She was so comfortable hearing she has a forever home, that she decided the recliner was an amazing spot to relax in and she made them come to her for her photo 😂

Happiest tails, and all the best lounging you dream of, sweet girl! You’re so loved! ♥️

Emily - Adopted 7/28/2023

Emily arrived with her two sisters, Rory and Lorelei, after being found locked in a crate with no food or water, living in their own filth and emaciated.

They arrived filled with hookworms, needing to gain a lot of weight, and with their growth stunted from malnutrition. They accepted the challenge of getting healthy with gusto. Emily’s sisters have been adopted, and today was her turn!

We are so thankful to her foster family for providing her with all the love, care, kindness and safety she needed to become a healthy, happy gal and get her ready for her transition to forever.

We are so very grateful to her new family for choosing to open their home and hearts and adopting an Angel in need. Emily has two great human parents, a human brother, and a fur brother to help her live out her best life.

Happy tails, baby girl! You are loved! 💜

Rory - Adopted 7/28/2023

Rory came to us at the beginning of July after being found living in a crate on a porch with her two sisters, starved & emaciated, with no food or water and living in their own waste. Each of them was loaded with hookworms, and though they looked like 12 week old puppies when they arrived, they are actually 7 month old girls whose growth was stunted due to malnutrition. The three made the trip from Alabama to PA and never looked back.

We are so thankful to her foster home for providing her a safe, love filled space to gain weight, get healthy, and have the best place to land and learn how life should truly be while she awaited her forever.

We are so grateful to her forever family for choosing to open their hearts and home and adopting an Angel in need. Rory will have the full run of her home, lots of room and land to explore and will never again have a day that isn’t filled with love and joy.

Happy tails, precious one. You are so very loved 🥰

Bessie - Adopted 7/27/2023

Bessie came from South Carolina after being surrendered to the shelter. She had been used as a breeding dog, along with others, and was attacked by another one of the mothers when she walked past her pups. Bessie’s foster mom here saw her photo and couldn’t resist giving this gal a chance at the best life, one where she is cherished, one free from being a puppy maker.

We are so very thankful to her foster home for being the safety and security she needed to not only get back her health, but her confidence and trust. And for also working with her on being a house dog and for being the person she needed to learn how to accept and give love above all else. Without her foster saying yes, we could not have helped this beautifully sweet gal.

We are so grateful to her new dad for choosing to open his home and heart and adopting an Angel in need. He is an experienced Rottie dad, having several in the past, and Bessie will spend her days living as the only Queen of her castle, with an extensively fenced yard and many, many acres of farmland to explore and find adventure on.

We wish both of you the absolute most joy and love that life can bring your way. Happy tails, sweet girl. You are so very loved ♥️

Tokyo - Adopted 7/22/2023

Tokyo (right) recently came from Alabama where he had been waiting quite a long time for a home. He arrived in PA and quickly showed that he is an amazing boy who loves everyone and everything!

He had his ear retreated for prior infection, started his Lyme and Canine Influenza vaccines, and settled into his foster home to await the family who had been searching for a goodest boy to join their home. We are thankful he didn’t have to wait long at all!

We are so grateful to his foster mom for providing him a safe place to land, to be shown love, and to help make sure he was healthy. Without our fosters, we would not be able to save any dogs.

We are so thankful to his new family for choosing to open their home and hearts and adopting this sweet Angel in need. He has a great older sister, whom he hit it off immediately with, and some pretty amazing parents who already adore him completely. We wish all of you the absolute most joy, love and happiness this life has to offer you.

Happy tails handsome Tokyo, now Tucker. You are so very loved! 💚

Feyre - Adopted 7/22/2023

Feyre arrived at the Haven just over a year ago. She went through heartworm treatment, worked on gaining trust and confidence (she’s a very shy and timid girl when in new situations and with new people), and learning how to properly live with a family.

She was adopted earlier this year, and while she did excellently adjusting to her new human family, the already established dogs in the home would not accept her as one of their own, despite trying everything.

So she returned to her foster, to start to gain her confidence back with other doggos, to settle back in and wait for a forever. This time, one we knew would be the end game for her. Today was that day.

We are so very grateful to her foster family, for not only saying yes to her originally, but for welcoming her back with open arms when she needed to come back. They have done an excellent job teaching her about life and love, about living in a home filled with laughter and kindness, and have ensured she is as ready as she can be, physically and mentally, to enter the final chapter of her story. The happily ever after.

We are so thankful to her new family for choosing to open their hearts and home to adopting an Angel in need… and especially a shy one. They often get overlooked. She has an amazing mom and dad who we are confident will shower her with love, affection and everything she could ever possibly want or need.

We wish all of you the very, very best that life can bring your way, and a lifetime filled with joy.

Happy tails, sweet Fey. You are so very loved. 💜

Chubbs - Adopted 7/20/2023

Chubbs (the little in the middle) also finalized her forever home today! Chubbs and her two housemates were surrendered due to no fault of her own. And We knew just the place to send her!

Chubbs entered a foster to adopt situation with an amazing mom and a fur sister, an Abby’s alum—Cider.

Cider was adopted about a year and a half ago and was searching for a forever friend, and what she found was little Chubbs, whom she treats like her baby… even though they’re only about 6 months apart in age. Cider says age is just a number 😉

Chubbs not only won over the heart of her canine companion, it didn’t take long to take over her humans heart too.

We are so thankful to her mom for choosing once again to open her home and heart to adopting another Angel in need. We know she is going to have the most amazing life she could ever want, one every dog should have.

Happy tails sweet girl! You’re so loved!❤️

Sarge - Adopted 7/20/2023

Sarge joined us at the Haven four months ago. He was heartworm positive, needed vetting, needed to gain weight, and needed neutered. He had been found as a stray in SC with two shock collars around his neck. And we’re thankful he was found so that he could learn that life is supposed to be filled with goodness and love, not punishment and fear.

Today, the final chapter of learning just that, began. He found his person.

We are so thankful to his foster home for providing a safe place to crash, get healthy, and to learn how he should be doted upon.

We are so grateful for his new dad for choosing to open his home and heart and adopting an Angel in need. Sarge will have many years of adventures with his very own new best friend. Years of snuggles, smiles and joy. Years filled with hope, orneriness and above all….. love. We wish you both the absolute best that life can bring your way.

Happy tails, handsome. You are loved 💛

Liza - Adopted 7/18/2023

Liza came up from SC recently after being found as a 5lb, 9 week old stray all by herself. She immediately won over our hearts the second she arrived, and it didn’t take her long to win over the hearts of everyone she’s met. She is a sweet, cuddly yet spunky, sassy little gremlin, and she is going to have the very best life.

We are thankful to her foster home for providing her a place to crash and learn a few things before heading to her forever home. She’s smart as a whip and learned several basic commands in just a few days. She’s also very social and outgoing… and has no fear.

We are so very grateful to her forever home for choosing to open their home and hearts and adopting an Angel in need. Liza, now Ruby, has a mom and dad who will be with her almost all the time and she’ll also be going on camping adventures. She has some family members and a doggo cousin who she’ll see very often as well.

We wish all of you the absolute best that life can bring you and every day filled with adventure, snuggles, laughter and so much love.

Happy tails sweet girl, you are loved! ❤️

Lorelei - Adopted 7/17/2023

Lorelei arrived from Alabama a few weeks ago with her two sisters. They had been found locked in a tiny crate, no food or water and living in their own filth for who knows how long. All three were emaciated, infested with hookworms and their skin and hair was damaged from soaking in urine.

She has been doing extremely well since arriving, gaining weight, getting rid of those worms, and her skin is healing and the stains are slowly fading.

Now, she gets to spend the rest of her life knowing nothing but love, being cherished, and being adored. We are so thankful to her family for choosing to open their home and hearts and adopting an Angel in need. Lorelei, now Roo, has some doggo siblings and two parents who adore her. We wish all of them the very best that life can bring.

Happy tails sweet baby! You are loved!

Keiko - Adopted 7/13/2023

Keiko came to us in early May. He was taken to a pet store and basically abandoned with an employee. The story given—his former “owner” had taken him to a dog park and the other owners threatened to call the police because he was disgustingly emaciated. Keiko spent almost 7 months of his life locked in a crate. No interaction, no basic training, living in his own filth, with very minimal food. The employees of the pet store reached out to a friend of ours who asked if we could help. How could we say no?

Keiko is basically a ten week old puppy in the body of an adult dog. He is extremely smart, and has picked up on sit and paw rather quickly, but needed someone who is able to spend in depth one on one time with him working on basic obedience and teaching him to proper dog. We knew it would take someone special.

We are so thankful to his fosters for providing him a safe place to crash, to begin his journey into what life should be like, to get his vetting all completed, and to teach him love. We can’t even begin to help dogs without committed foster homes who selflessly give their hearts and home to these dogs.

We are so very grateful to his new dad for choosing to open his home and heart and adopting an Angel in need. He works from home, so our Cakes will get plenty of QT with his dad, and begin becoming the dog, waiting just under that fur, that he was always meant to be.

Happy tails sweet handsome boy. You are so loved! 🎂 ❤️

Rock - Adopted 7/12/2023

Rock flew up from Mississippi in June with his sister after being found—yellow—in a field. We believe they were spray painted, and while it has faded a bit, they’re still.. well, yellow.

Rock spent some time learning some dog basics-leash walking, house and crate training, how to sit, and most of all, was the most polite and well mannered puppy he could be.

Today, he got to go to his forever home. He has a wonderful mom and dad, and a fur brother that he met last week who will show him the ropes of his very own new home.

We are so thankful to his new family for choosing to open their home and hearts and adopting an Angel in need.

We wish all of you the absolute best and most joy that life can bring you. Happy tails, sweet boy! You are so very loved! ❤️

Ty - Adopted 7/8/2023

Ty came to us at the beginning of May after his owner he had been with his whole life was diagnosed with dementia and could no longer care for him.

Ty quickly showed us he was the sweetest soul, who loved everyone and every being that he came in contact with. His 8 year old body still spry, full of life and up for whatever his people wanted to do. He loves taking walks, going in the river, playing outside, and most recently, being best friends with his foster kitty sibling. We knew Ty not only deserved a home that would love him and cherish him, but hopefully one who had a friend he could bond with and be buds with, for the rest of his days. And we are happy to say he found them.

We are so very grateful to his Foster family. For saying “yes” when we asked for help and opening the door to their home and their heart to give him the space and love he needed until He found his new forever home. They did an excellent job with his adjustment and transition and made it as seamless as possible. Without foster homes, we can not continue to help dogs just like Ty—who just need a chance. We appreciate you!

We are so thankful to his new mom and his new kitty siblings for opening their home and hearts and choosing to adopt an Angel in need. We just know that he will bring so much joy to your lives, and you will bring so much more to his. He is an amazing soul, and we are so happy and so appreciative of you giving him the chance to have a family to call his own.

Happiest tails to you, handsome Ty! You are so very loved! 💚

Tommy - Adopted 6/25/2023

On Nov 23, the day before thanksgiving, I got a phone call. Someone had seen a puppy being given away on fb so went to get him. When they arrived, they learned the pup had been locked in a shed for basically his entire existence. 10-11 weeks of life. No proper socialization.

The pup was terrified of people and fearful… growling and snapping at the people who took him home. They asked if we could help. I told them if they could bring him to me that evening, I would take him.

He arrived in a carrier, they couldn’t get him out without him snarling. I took him inside where I had an x-pen set up with food and water, lots of blankets and warmth… and quiet. I took the entire carrier apart, lifted him out, placed him in the pen and then took the carrier back out to them and thanked them.

I went back in and just sat in the pen. Not speaking, not reaching for him, just letting him know I was there and wasn’t going to force him to do anything he didn’t want to do.

After about two minutes of glaring at me, he climbed into my lap and let out a huge sigh and snuggled in.

And from that day forward, he became Tommy Turkey.

Tommy worked hard on his socializing—with new sounds, new textures, new animals. He was the roommate of our cat for the first week until we made sure he had nothing contagious—he had had no vetting, and then met our dogs. It was clear that dogs were his jam. Good thing his foster always has lots of them!

He was doing so so well, and then right before Christmas, our house got hit with a severe respiratory virus—suspected canine influenza—and poor Tommy went down hill fast. We almost lost him. He had developed a secondary bacterial pneumonia. He was rushed to PVSEC and placed on oxygen. He was on iv’s, many medications. We didn’t know if he’d get to come home. But, he persevered.

It took him two months after to fully heal and get back his stamina. Two months lost for socializing and two months lost of looking for a home… but he never gave up, and neither did we.

Tommy has made leaps and bounds in regards to his fear of people. He still barks and growls when someone new comes into his home, but settles quickly now as long as they ignore him and he sees they aren’t a threat. He does excellently in public and just ignores everyone. As we have taught him to do.

Tommy will never be the dog who wants everyone to love on him… but for those he trusts, there’s no dog on earth who will love you harder and be as loyal.

We knew it would take a home dedicated to giving him his time, his space, and ease him into a new life on his terms. After 7 months, he’s finally found them.

He did so well today, better than expected, and we hope he continues to show who he really is and they love him just as much as we have.

Thank you to his new family for taking a chance on the shy one, the scared one, the one who needs just a little more. We truly are so grateful for you for giving him this chance and opportunity at living his best life.

Tommy has a wonderful mom and dad, a kitty sibling, and a doggo brother who is also an Abby’s Angel Alum.

We will be checking in often, to make sure his transition goes as flawlessly as possible. But for now, Cluck, Tom Tom, Turk, Tommy Turkey, Thomas…..

Tommy—happy tails baby. You are so, so very loved ❤️

Sedona - Adopted 6/25/2023

Sedona came to us in early February after her dad unexpectedly passed away. He was a great man who loved his girls very much, and they knew it as well.

Sedona got back on track with her vetting, and had multiple exams head to toe, inside and out to be sure she was healthy enough and ready for a new family. And she showed us she was more than ready.

We are so thankful to her foster families for providing her a safe space to settle and adjust, for providing her love and care, and for working with her on training needs. Without foster homes, we are unable to help the dogs who need us the most.

We are so very grateful to her new family for opening their home and hearts and choosing to adopt and Angel in need.

Sedona is now the only queen of her castle, just the way she prefers, and has an amazingly kind mom and and a human sister and brother who will adore her for all of her days. They fell in love with her immediately upon meeting her.

We wish all of you a life filled with royalties beyond comprehension, love beyond measure, and joy with no bounds. Happy tails sweet Sedona, you are so very loved ❤️

Roxy - Adopted 6/18/2023

Roxy came to us about 5 weeks ago. We got her vaccines finished up, she was spayed and ready to go to her new home. She had a lot of interest, but we knew that she would need a breed experienced owner and the perfect family for her saw her and knew they needed her as much as she needed them.

We are so thankful to her foster mom for giving her the opportunity to stay safe, loved and cared for, while finishing up her vet care and awaiting the day she would have her forever.

We are so grateful to her new family for choosing to open their home and hearts to adopting an Angel in need. She has wonderful parents who are well versed in her breed and some human siblings to help with her energetic nature, and will live a life filled with some of her very favorite things—camping and kayaking!

We wish all of you pure joy, happiness and love, and many many more years of exuberance and adventure.

Happy tails, Roxy! You are loved! ❤️

Thelma - Adopted 6/18/2023

Thelma & Louise came to us just under a month ago when they turned 8 weeks old. The owner of their mother reached out for help when she got out of her yard by accident and ended up pregnant. We have scheduled Mia, their mom, to be spayed this week so this doesn’t happen again, but in the meantime, Thelma left for her forever home today!

We are so thankful to Thelma’s foster family for providing her a safe, loving and kind home to stay in. She got some vaccines and vet care and exposed her to living with kids and dogs while she waited for her forever family and we are truly appreciative of all they have done for her.

Thelma found herself a home with a great mom and dad, a human sister, and some doggo brothers to keep her company.

We are so grateful for her family for choosing to open their home and hearts to adopting an Angel in need. We wish all of you the absolute most happiness that life can bring you.

Happy tails, little one! You are so very loved 💜

Louise - Adopted 6/18/2023

Thelma & Louise came to us just under a month ago when they turned 8 weeks old. The owner of their mother reached out for help when she got out of her yard by accident and ended up pregnant. We have scheduled Mia, their mom, to be spayed this week so this doesn’t happen again, but in the meantime, Louise left for her forever home today!

We are so thankful to Louise’s foster family for providing her a safe, loving and kind home to stay in. She got some vaccines and vet care and exposed her to living with kids and dogs while she waited for her forever family and we are truly appreciative of all they have done for her.

Louise, now Macie, found a home with a great mom and dad, a human sibling, some kitty sisters and will also have a regular doggo playmate to keep her company.

We are so grateful for her family for choosing to open their home and hearts to adopting an Angel in need. We wish all of you the absolute most happiness that life can bring you.

Happy tails, little one! You are so very loved 💜

Miley - Adopted 6/17/2023

Miley joined us just under 4 weeks ago. She needed complete vetting, house trained and working on trusting new people but she is doing great! She just has her spay left and it is scheduled.

But today, her foster to adopt mom made her an official member of the family! Her mom had applied for another of our Angels who had multiple apps and was open to fostering another dog who needed a home and a place to learn love and kindness until ready for adoption.

We are so thankful for and appreciative of her for providing Miley a safe place to work on her training needs, to care for her during her vetting and for choosing to open her home and heart and adopting an Angel in need.

We wish them both a lifetime filled with love, happiness and an unbreakable bond. Happiest tails little Miley! You’re very loved! ❤️

Stella - Adopted 6/10/2023

Stella came to PA in September. She was an owner surrender to the shelter because the other dogs in the home attacked her. After she arrived, we learned she’s timid, but she actually does well with other dogs if intros are done properly and slowly. She’s had several play dates with some of our other angels.

But while she’s been perfect, and is such an amazing girl, she’s waited…. And waited some more. Until today.

One of our previous adopting families contacted and said they wanted to meet her. They had adopted beautiful, amazing Virgo a couple of years ago when she was a senior. Unfortunately, a few months ago, the courageous and stoic Virgo crossed the bridge after some valiant battles against cancer. Her family has missed her dearly, and decided that while the void can never be filled and their heart will never replace their beautiful girl, they still have so much love to give and a place in their home waiting for another Angel who deserves it.

We are so thankful to her foster mom for keeping her safe, for working with her on her basics, and for loving her all these months until it was time for her own family. She couldn’t be here without her.

And we are grateful beyond words to Stella’s new family for once again choosing to open their home and hearts to adopting an Angel in need. We know she has the very best home she could ever dream of, and will never know a day that isn’t filled with absolute joy and love.

Happy tails, Stella… we wish you and your family every joy that life can bring you. You are loved! ❤️

Phoenix - Adopted 6/9/2023

Phoenix came to us in early February after her dad unexpectedly passed away. He was a great man who loved his girls very much, and they knew it as well.

Phoenix got back on track with her vetting, and had multiple exams head to toe, inside and out to be sure she was healthy and ready for a new family.

Phoenix is now the only queen of her castle, just the way she prefers, and has an amazingly kind mom and dad who will adore her for all of her days. They fell in love with her immediately upon meeting her.

We wish all of you a life filled with royalties beyond comprehension, love beyond measure, and joy with no bounds. Happy tails sweet Phoenix, you are so very loved ❤️

Patches - Adopted 6/6/2023

July 6, 2022. That’s the Day Patches arrived at the Haven. He didn’t have a great life up until that point. He was seized in February 2022, by AC Officer Hamilton in South Carolina after he was found severely neglected, living in trash, and grossly emaciated.

He was taken to the local shelter and tested positive for heartworm. The wonderful staff cared for him, loved him, helped him gain some weight and muscle, treated him for heartworm and waited for someone to see him and take him into rescue.

And that’s where his journey started with us.

He arrived, super strong beef cake that he is, but needed to learn manners, how to live in a home, and also had entropion in both eyes. He got updated vaccines, including Lyme and CIV, and was neutered. His eyes were tacked. That helped for a few months, but then he needed a double entropion surgery. Since then he has healed and is doing wonderfully.

But during all of that….. he waited patiently, and then impatiently, and back to patiently for his forever home. He sat and watched so many come after and leave before… and wondered why he wasn’t being adopted when he’s such a good boy.

You see, Patches was treated horribly for his first two years of life. And despite that… he LOVES people. He believes every person that he sees should stop what they’re doing and pet him and give him a kiss. Yes, a kiss. He puts his face up and waits for them.

Though he waited for his forever, he had an amazing foster family to help him integrate into a home life. To love him up each day. To play with. To snuggle with. To love in return. His smile and his heart have been so full and we are so very grateful to his foster family for loving him so hard, for so long… but he’s deserved a home of his own.

Today was that day. After over a year, almost a year and a half, since his rescue date by Officer Hamilton, Patches went home. He has a dad who has been so excited to welcome him with open arms.

We are so appreciative and thankful to his dad for choosing to open his home and heart and adopting this very deserving boy who’s been waiting for him his whole life. We want nothing but the best for both of you. Days filled with tail whips, bone chewing, snuggles and loyalty…. And most of all, love. Patches has more than enough to share with anyone who will receive it.

Special thanks to Cheddar Paws Dog Art for helping network Patches and painting a beautiful rendition of him to go to his new home.

Happy tails, Patchy boy. Today is the first day of forever 💚 We love you!

Kacie (Peg) - Adopted 6/6/2023

Kacie (or Peg as some of you know her) came to us about a month ago. She had been surrendered to a vet clinic by her breeder at 7 weeks old with a broken leg and they said “do whatever with her.” A nice family took her in to have her surgery completed and then she was transferred to us for the healing process and to find a home.

Kacie, now Willow Grace, got her splint off two weeks ago and has been steadily doing better with learning to reuse her leg. She’ll return for another set of X-rays in a few weeks and continue her daily physical therapy.

We are so thankful to her new family, which consists of a wonderful mom and dad, and big doodle brother Watson, for opening their home and hearts and adopting an Angel in need.

We have no doubt that she will have the very best life, and no concerns that she will fill theirs with laughter and excitement as well.

You may even just see her and her brother most days at Juli's Wearable Art in downtown Bedford 😉

Happy tails Willow! We wish all of you the absolute most joy, tail wags and balls of fluff imaginable. You are so loved!

Beatrix - Adopted 6/3/2023

Beatrix came to us mid December, emaciated and starved, and riddled with heartworm. She was exposed to the respiratory virus that sent three of our dogs to the ICU, but thankfully she had already been on antibiotics for heartworm treatment and while she developed pneumonia, it was very mild and she healed up pretty quickly.

She spent the next months learning how to actually be a dog, having all her ailments fixed up and treated, and most of all—being loved and showing her exuberant and affectionate personality. She is the definition of resilience. She lives each day in the moment and is thankful and happy with each second that passes.

We are so thankful to her new family for opening their home and hearts to adopting an Angel in need. Bee can be a handful when her zoomies and kangaroo bouncing starts, and her hound nose can lead her astray, but we know she will more than repay them in snuggles and never ending love. Thank you for giving her what she’s deserved—a home.

Happy tails, sweet girl. You are forever loved.

Cooper - Adopted 5/29/2023

Cooper came to us a little over a month ago, unable to walk properly, very heavily overmedicated, overweight and with a history of epileptic seizures.

He has spent the last month working on losing weight—he lost over 5 lbs!- Detoxing from some meds he didn’t need to be on, regulating ones he did need, and low and behold we learned that Cooper can not only walk—he can run and he can play with the best of them. He loves to go for walks! Cooper will need seizure medication the rest of his life and maintenance, so we knew he needed an extra special family.

We are so thankful to his foster family for providing him the extra care and love he so desperately needed while he learned how to be a normal dog again. They did a fantastic job with his weight loss, care and getting him to be a happy, silly and loved boy!

We are so grateful to his new family for opening their hearts and home to adopting an Angel with some extra special needs. The dedication and kindness they have put forth is just what he needs to continue down the path of a healthy, happy life.

Cooper has two doggo siblings and an in-law doggo sibling and will have someone home with him at all times, and as a bonus—he now lives near the beach!

We’ll miss you at the office each week with us, handsome, sweet boy, but we are so thrilled you get the home you’ve always deserved. We wish all of you the best life together and all the love you can handle. Happy tails Coop!

Mac - Adopted 5/17/2023

Mac came to us a little over a month ago. He used to be a breeding stud, and didn’t know much about living in a home, but thanks to his foster mom and dad, and their pups, he learned quickly that life in a home is much better than life in a kennel.

We are so thankful to his foster home for showing him such kindness, safety and love while he finished up most of his vetting and waited to go to his forever.

We are so grateful to his new home for choosing to open their home and hearts and adopting another Angel in need. Mac now joins one of our previous Angels, Harry from the home alone pups, doggo sister Nicks, and his wonderful new pawrents and will never know or again feel that he’s just good for breeding.

Have the happiest life, sweet boy. You are so loved! ❤️

Moa - Adopted 5/15/2023

It took a team effort to save this boy. He was listed as “puppy has to go today or else” at a local farm. A Good Samaritan contacted a friend of ours, who contacted us and ask if we could help because he was going to be killed at the end of the day. We said yes and they jumped into action, with minutes to spare.

He came to the Haven and hasn’t looked back since.

We are so thankful to his fosters who opened their home to be a safe place—to literally save his life—and teach him the basics of how to dog until he waited for his forever.

We are so very grateful to his new home for choosing to open their home and hearts and adopting an Angel in need. Moa had a mom and a dad, and also an older fur sibling to continue teaching him the proper way to dog, and how to use their adorableness for extra snacks.

We wish all of you the absolute best life can bring! Happy Tails, sweet Moa! You are loved!

Oreo - Adopted 4/30/2023

Oreo came to the Haven at the beginning of March, and quickly showed that she was a beautifully rounded gal. She loves all animals and is great with all people too!

She settled in and finished up her vetting, and then just needed a home to call her own.

We are so thankful to her foster home for opening the door and allowing her the safety, love, and care she needed to be prepared and all ready for her forever home.

We are so grateful to her new home, for choosing to open their home and hearts, and adopting an Angel in need. We have no doubt she will fill each day with love, laughter and fulfillment.

Congratulations and happy tails, sweet Oreo! You are so very loved 💜

Pope - Adopted 4/21/2023

Pope originally came to us way back in March 2022. He was part of our “outer banks pups,” 8 siblings. Pope was the favorite of his foster home and was quickly adopted at the same time as the rest of his siblings went to their families.

Unfortunately, in November he rejoined the Haven. The home chosen for him didn’t work out as we all had hoped, and he spent the next 5 months working on his leash skills, working on settling into a new structure and learning to properly play with others. And he excelled in every area we could’ve asked. He still needs some fine tuning, but he’s still a baby at only over a year old. We waited and he waited, and finally we had a promising app for him.

Last weekend, during our basket pawty, Pope went and spent the day playing and learning how to fit in with his potential new family. And they all did wonderfully.

Today, it was made official. Pope finally has his forever.

We are so grateful to his foster for providing him love, care and stability during his return and keeping him safe until his “fairy tail” ending came along.

We are so thankful to his new family for opening their home and hearts and choosing to adopt an Angel in need. Pope has the most wonderful parents, and also two fursisters to spend each day playing with and learning from. We couldn’t be more thrilled for all of them, or more appreciative of them giving a second chance to a boy who needed one.

We wish all of you the absolute best life can bring, all the love you can handle, and all the snuggles and tail wags one could ever hope for.

You’re the bestest boy, little Pope, and we love you so much💚 Congrats on your forever!

Annie Oakley - Adopted 4/21/2023

Annie Oakley joined us at the beginning of March and has spent the last month and a half completing her vetting. In the meantime, she’s been enjoying her foster home and winning over hearts everywhere.

Today, she got to prance into the sunset with her forever.

We are so grateful to her foster mom and family for providing a safe and loving atmosphere for her to adjust and get all she needed done before she was ready for a home of her own.

We are so thankful to her new family for choosing to open their home and hearts and adopting an Angel in need. Annie has two doggo siblings at home and an awesome mom and dad. We couldn’t have asked for a better family for her to be a part of.

We wish all of you the very best life together, and happy tails, little one. You are very loved! 💜

Raven - Adopted 3/9/2023

Thankful Thursday saw Raven getting to go to her forever home!

Raven joined the haven fairly recently, a 7 month old gal with lots of energy to spare, and it didn’t take her new family long to see her and fall head over heels.

We are so thankful to her foster family for giving her a safe place to stay, filled with love and constructive ways to work off her energy. In just shy of a month, her foster mom not only worked with her on proper leash walking, but also taught her quite a few obedience commands. This gal is sharp and eager to learn! Her foster mom couldn’t have done a better job ❤️

We are so grateful to her new family for opening their home and hearts and adopting an Angel in need. They are fully prepared for this beauty, and are excited about her energy level matching their own! We know that you’ll have such an amazing life sweet girl! Happy tails, sweet Raven💜 We wish you lots of walks and all of the adventures of a lifetime!

Nancy - Adopted 3/8/2023

In November, Nancy made the trip up from SC to PA. She was extremely scared, timid and at the time, a flight risk.

She went directly into a home on a foster to adopt basis. A few days after arrival, she got spooked and busted through porch fencing and took off. We immediately began searching for her to no avail and reached out to Lost & Found Pets of Somerset County, PA, for some help catching her since she was seen on their camera returning to the porch but running off anytime anyone opened the door. They quickly jumped into action, set up a trap, and within twenty four hours she was caught and safely back in her foster home.

She spent the next few months finishing up her vetting and settling in. And we are pleased to say she has come so very far! She is still shy with new people, but she absolutely adores her foster mom, her foster fur sister and her foster human kiddos. They adore her so much that today, they made it official!

Nancy, now Sadie, has her forever home💜 We wish all of you continuing progress as you bloom into the amazing girl you’ve shown you can be, and all the happiness in the world. We are so thankful to your family for opening their home and hearts and giving you the best home you could dream of. Happy tails, sweet girl. You are loved!❤️

Colby - Adopted 2/25/2023

Colby traveled from SC to the haven in November to enter a foster home and await his forever home. Today, his wait ended.

Colby arrived a very shy boy who needs some time to adjust to new people, but we learned very quickly that once he settles a little, he absolutely adores other dogs and loves his people too!

We are thankful to his foster mom for opening her home and giving him a place to learn safety and comfort, for loving him, and for knowing that the quickest way to this boys heart, is patience and love.

We are so thankful to his new family for opening their home and hearts to adopting another Angel in need. Colby now has a new home with an amazing mom and dad, and also has a fur sister, who was adopted last year and is one of our precious Pixie’s babies. Colby will be given the space and patience he needs to flourish, and will undoubtedly live a fantastic, very loved, and very full life.

Happy tails, handsome. You are loved! ❤️

Harley - Adopted 2/19/2023

Harley (on the right) came up from SC in September. She was found as a stray in July, full of milk…. But no puppies were ever located despite days of searching.

So she waited for a foster home to be able to welcome her, and she made her trip to freedom.

She arrived heartworm positive, and after receiving heartworm treatment and being cleared, she was spayed and finished her vaccines.

Harley is a timid and shy gal when she first meets you, but it doesn’t take long for her to completely win over your heart, and that’s just what she did with her foster sister and her foster parents, so they decided to change her status from foster to forever family member.

We are so thankful and grateful for her foster, and now forever family for opening their home and hearts and giving this girl a safe place to learn love and kindness, a place to heal, and a place to grow.

Harley has the most amazing mom and dad, a fur sister Arrayah who is also an Angel alum, and two kitty siblings who do their best to keep her on her paws.

We know you’ll have the most amazing life you could have ever dream of beautiful girl. May each day be blessed with treats, kisses, belly rubs, and playtime. You are loved.

Portia - Adopted 2/4/2023

Pretty Portia went strolling off to her forever home today.

Portia came to us as a tiny two week old pup from Texas, with her mom and siblings a little over two years ago. She was quickly adopted and spent two years in a loving home. She recently returned to the rescue and awaited a new home.

She has spent the last week settling in with her new family and has done beautifully. Today, they made it official.

We are thankful to her foster home for opening her door and allowing Portia to stay temporarily until her new home was ready to welcome her with open arms.

We are so grateful to her new family, for falling quickly in love, and wanting to give this beautiful girl a new chance at happiness. And we have no doubt she’ll have it. She is an amazing dog with so much love to share, and her family has the same in return for her.

We wish all of you the absolute best that life can bring. Lots of squeakers, tail wags, and so many kisses that you can’t stand it. Happy tails, beautiful girl. You are so very loved 💞

Rip - Adopted 2/1/2023

Rip came from SC at the end of November to await his happily ever after. This huge hunk of love quickly won over the hearts of our vet staff and our volunteers. He finished up his canine influenza vaccine series today and that was the last item he needed before he could trot confidently out the door and into his new life.

We are so thankful to his foster home for providing safety, comfort, love and care while he awaited his new family.

We are so very grateful to his new family for choosing to adopt another Angel in need. Rip now has a great mom and dad and a doggo fur sibling who also is an Angel alum.

We wish you all the absolute best life that you can dream of, Filled with all the good nose smelling, tail wags, adventure and so much love.

Have the best life, handsome boy! You are loved.

Granny - Adopted 1/21/2023

Our sweet, beautiful Granny P finally got to go home today. She’s been patiently waiting to make it official throughout the emergencies that have arisen.

Granny arrived here in September and needed to complete her heartworm treatment and have a few other issues addressed. She has gone through treatment with grace and winning over the hearts of everyone she met… sometimes because she’s so cute, and sometimes by force since she demands the attention and pets from every person she sees.

We are so thankful to her foster family for providing her love, comfort, and a safe place to crash while she finished her vetting and awaited her forever home.

We are so very grateful to her new family for choosing to adopt another Angel in need. Granny has a human sister, some cats to make her own, and a doggy sister as well—who was adopted from us two years ago. We know that she will have an amazing life and will spend the rest of her days being spoiled rotten and loved always.

Congrats, Granny ❤️ have the best life!

Missy - Adopted 12/30/2022

Missy also got her forever home today!

Missy came from SC after having a litter of pups and being discarded. She was heartworm positive and had some pretty awful skin. She went through heartworm treatment, got healthy and waited for someone to give her whole heart to. And now she has them.

We are so thankful to her foster family for providing the safety, love and care she needed to get all healed up and ready for the life that awaits her.

We are so very grateful to her new family, for choosing to open their home and hearts and adopting an Angel in need. Missy’s mom is a vet tech for an ER hospital in Delaware. She will have all she could ever need. She also has a dad and her very own little human. They live on a farm and she will have the best life she could’ve ever imagined.

Happy tails beautiful, girl! You are so very loved!

Rusty - Adopted 12/30/2022

A bit of good news today!

Rusty recently joined us at the haven after his owner has some devastating family news and he wanted us to find the best place for his boy to find a forever. He had a LOT of interest. But we knew this boy would require someone with previous breed experience. And despite some amazing families who applied who would make fantastic homes, There is only one Rusty. So we had to choose who he would flourish and do the best with.

We are so thankful to his foster family for welcoming him into their home and providing him with love and care until his forever was found.

We are so very grateful to his new family, for choosing to open their home and hearts to adopting an Angel in need. Rusty has a family who will be home with him all the time, who has only ever had English Springers in their family, and who will do whatever is necessary for his care and training moving forward.

He also is the king of the house and is an only pet, so will get all the love and attention he could ever dream of.

Happy tails, beautiful boy!! Have the best life, and we wish nothing but joy to all of you! You are loved!

Evelyn - Adopted 12/28/2022

In the midst of worry, gloom and heartache, a ray of light is always nice to see… as it always brings upon a rainbow and the promise of brighter days ahead.

Evelyn came up from SC in November, and today, she got her forever home.

She was a young stray shep mix, who takes a moment to warm up to people, but once she does, you have a best friend and loyal companion for every day after.

We are so very thankful to her foster home for being the safe, open arms she needed to flourish, learn so much love and complete her care, and be ready for a forever home.

We are so grateful to her new family for choosing to open their home and hearts to adopting an Angel in need. She was a little shy after her foster momma left, but didn’t waste any time squeezing her way in and riding in her grandmas lap on the way home.

We wish all three of you so much love, laughter and happiness to fill all of your days.

Happy tails, sweet girl. You are so very loved.

Daphne - Adopted 12/23/2022

Merry Christmas Eve Eve, Daphne! Santa came early!

Daphne originally came to us in the spring of 2021, after being found living in a storm drain raising four pups. She arrived completely terrified of people and had no idea how to live in a home. Her babies were adopted quickly, and Daphne began learning what life was supposed to be like.

She is an amazing girl once she opens up and gets to know you… and it doesn’t take her more than a few days to become the best sidekick and make you fall in love.

We are so thankful to her foster mom for being the stepping stone she needed to find a family perfect for her.

We are so grateful to her new family, for choosing to open their home and hearts and adopting an Angel in need. Daphne has a furbrother and a fursister in her new home and we know she will be loved beyond compare.

We wish all of you the absolute best of all things that life can bring Happy tails, sweet Daphne. You’re finally home.

Keeva - Adopted 12/14/2022

Keeva came to us in May, after her South Carolina “owner” called the humane society and demanded someone come out to euthanize her or he would shoot her. The reason? She couldn’t walk and he couldn’t deal with her anymore. When Brittany arrived, she found Keeva more than willing to get up and go with her. But she also found a dog who had been severely neglected, emaciated and over 25 lbs underweight, full of heartworm, with pressure sores all over her frail body, a permanently hunched back from being stuck in a much too small crate for too long, and teeth that had been ground down to nubs from chewing on those same bars.

Keeva arrived and from the first moment she stepped off of transport, she has been nothing less than absolute joy and happiness personified. She is thankful for any touch a human offers her. She is so grateful for comfort, for basic needs being met, and so overjoyed at experiencing love.

We are so thankful she had someone offer to foster her so that her life could become what it always should have been.

We are so grateful to her new mom for choosing to open her home and heart and adopting an Angel in need. Keeva now has her own mom who is home full time, an aunt who also lives with her and is home full time as well. She will never again know the feeling of being alone.

To Keeva—have an amazing life sweet girl. You are so deserving of every good thing that can come your way. We hope you have every minute on the couch your heart desires. As many belly rubs as you can handle, and most of all, more love than you knew was possible. Thank you for allowing us to love you!

Stan Lee - Adopted 11/19/2022

Stan Lee arrived about 8 weeks ago from SC after being an owner surrender for being ”too much.” He’s honestly been a fantastic pup, very polite, friendly and playful.

He’s spent the last two months finishing up his vetting at his awesome foster home, who welcomed him with open arms. He learned some basic commands, worked on his house training and learned love and how to play with others properly. We are so thankful for his foster family for opening their home and showing him so much care.

We are so grateful that now, he has his very own mom to cherish him for always. He has two doggo siblings that he’s met and done so well with. We are so honored that they have chosen to open their hearts and adopt an Angel in need.

We wish all of you such an amazing life and all the joy together that you can handle. Happy tails sweet boy, you are so loved!

Rowdy - Adopted 11/19/2022

Rowdy came from SC a couple of months ago with nerve damage to his front leg. He spent time in a foster home, learning basic commands, and how to be loved. He was vaccinated, neutered and recently had his amputation surgery so that he can run and play like a normal dog.

We are so thankful to his foster family for providing him comfort, safety, structure and love while he went through his vetting and waited for his forever. He has been the sweetest boy during his stay at the haven.

We are extremely grateful to his new family for waiting so patiently for him and for choosing to open their home and hearts to adopting an Angel in need. Rowdy is going home to a few dog siblings, and kitty siblings, and has two amazing parents ready to love and spoil him for the rest of his days.

We wish all of you the very best life together and all the running, laughter and snuggles you can handle.

Happy tails, sweet boy. You are so very loved.

Tallie - Adopted 10/28/2022

It was a Fabulous FriYay for sweet, gorgeous Tallie!

Tallie came up from SC about 6 weeks ago. She finished up the rest of her vetting last week, had a week of healing, and got to go to her forever home today!

She’s an amazing girl, and a typical husky!

We are so very thankful to her foster home, for welcoming her into their house with open arms, giving her a safe place to crash, learn some manners, and providing her stability and love while she finished her care.

We are so very grateful to her forever family, for choosing to open their home and hearts to adopting an Angel in need. She will be an amazing companion, friend, and so much entertainment for so many years to come. She has a doggo sibling awaiting her at home.

We wish all of you the very best and all the love and laughter life can bring.

Happy tails, and so many meatballs to you, beautiful girl! You are loved!

Penny - Adopted 10/25/2022

Penny came up from SC a little less than 6 weeks ago with her brother, after surviving parvovirus.
Parvovirus is a highly contagious, often fatal virus that attacks the gastrointestinal system of unvaccinated dogs. Thankfully, she and her brother responded to fluid therapy and recovered.

Since she’s been here, she’s been learning how to be a puppy, how to love and be loved, and enjoying life with her foster family. We are truly grateful for their willingness to open their home and offer her a safe place to learn, receive care, and await her forever home.

Today was her adoption day! She now has a new mom and dad, and a big brother awaiting her at home to teach her all the ways of dog. She got to meet him about a week ago! We are so grateful to them all for choosing to open their home and hearts and adopting an Angel in need. Penny, is an amazing, sassy and spunky little gal and we have no doubts that she will enjoy her new life for all her days.

Happy tails and all the playing you can handle, pretty girl!

Sheldon - Adopted 10/25/2022

Sheldon (left) came up from SC a little less than 6 weeks ago with his sister, after surviving parvovirus.
Parvovirus is a highly contagious, often fatal virus that attacks the gastrointestinal system of unvaccinated dogs. Thankfully, he responded to fluid therapy and recovered.

Since he’s been here, he’s been learning how to be a puppy, how to love and be loved, and enjoying life with his foster family. We are truly grateful for their willingness to open their home and offer him a safe place to learn, receive care, and await his forever home.

Today was his adoption day! He now has a new mom and dad, and a big sister to teach him all the ways of dog. We are so grateful to them all for choosing to open their home and hearts and adopting an Angel in need. Sheldon, now Jake, is an amazing little guy and we have no doubts that he will enjoy his new life for all his days.

Happy tails, and all the snuggles, sweet little boy!

Brandon - Adopted 10/22/2022

Brandon celebrated this beautiful fall day by going to his forever home!

Brandon came up from SC last month. He had been previously struggling with some gall stones. We got him on a prescription urinary diet, on some antibiotics and utilized diet specific treats, and everything did it’s job and his gall stones dissolved! We made sure of this before his neuter this week. He’s now all done and ready to enjoy his new life.

We are so thankful to his foster home for providing him comfort and care, showing him love and affection and getting him ready for his next steps.

We are so grateful to his new dad, for choosing to open his home and heart to adopting an Angel in need. We wish both of you the absolute best life together and know that he will bring you so much joy and happiness.

Happiest tails, sweet boy! Have an amazing life!

Goldilocks - Adopted 10/16/2022

Goldilocks came to the Haven in September from SC. She was found as a 6-wk old stray. She settled in quickly and showed off her sweet demeanor matches her outwards cuteness that, let’s be honest, she’s so adorable it’s hard to not just smile when you see her.

We are so very thankful to her foster family, who welcomed her in with open arms. They taught her how to live in a home, be loved, how to play with other dogs, cats and children and set her up for a lifetime of love from her forever family. We appreciate your love and dedication, and your selflessness.

We are extremely grateful to her forever family, for choosing to open their home and hearts to adopting an Angel in need. Goldi, now Maisie, has a big fur brother who voiced his excitement, a big human sister, and two parents who are already overjoyed to have her join their family.

We wish all of you the utmost joy, happiness and love that life can bring, and a lifetime full of adventure.

Happy tails, beautiful girl! You are so very loved!

Hannah - Adopted 10/13/2022

Hannah (on the right) is a beautiful, spunky, affectionate and sassy little girl. She does rely on other dogs to teach her things are fun and safe, but once she’s comfortable, her personality is one of a kind.

We are so thankful to her forever family, for choosing to open their home and hearts to
adopting another Angel in need. Hannah now has a brother, Oz, who was adopted from us about two years ago, some kitty siblings and two very kind and amazing dads.

Happiest tails, sweet, sassy, beautiful Hannah. You are so, so very loved more than you’ll ever know!

Thorn - Adopted 10/9/2022

Thorn (left) came from South Carolina a little over a month ago. He quickly won over all our hearts and those of his foster family.

A family who had been approved to adopt but were just waiting for the right one to come along, found that he is who they’ve been waiting for.

We are so thankful to his foster family for giving him a safe space to finish his care and be loved until it was time to go to his forever home.

We are so grateful to his new family for choosing to open their home and hearts to adopting an Angel in need. He has a great fur sister, and some pretty kind parents.

We wish all of you the very best that life can bring your way, and so so very many days of joy.

Happy tails, Thorn. You are loved!

Asher - Adopted 10/3/2022

The third Miracle Pup, Asher, joined his forever family today.

Asher was one of 14 babies that our Ruthie carried. Ruthie’s uterus became too thin, trying to carry that many pups and a c-section was performed. Had we not done the surgery, we would have lost Ruthie and every single one of her babies.

Unfortunately, it meant that her babies were born prematurely. Five were stillborn.

Later that day, Nine including Asher, were discharged with their mom. Ruthie ended up going in for a second emergency surgery that same evening due to a clot dislodging and some leaking arterioles. The pups were too young and too weak to be able to suckle, so tube feeding began every hour to two hours around the clock. Another pup had passed by the next morning.

When Ruthie came home the next day, we tried to reintroduce them to her, but she wanted nothing to do with any of them. Sadly, she ending up harming three. Two passed that same day, another the next.

And then there were 5. 5 little miracles who lived in an incubator for their first 3.5 weeks of life. Who were tube fed for almost two weeks, who fought off bacterial and fungal infections since they didn’t have any colostrum or protection from their mother. Who eventually became strong enough to bottle feed. Who needed subQ fluids, antibiotics, couldn’t regulate their sugars. Who made baby steps each day in the hardest, most exhausting fight for life. 5 little miracles who proved they wanted this life, just as much as we wanted it for them. They fought, We fought. And we finally made it together.

Without a foster home dedicated to loving and caring for them, none of these babies would be here today.

Asher tested positive for Von Willebrands type 1 disease. It is a clotting disease, but may never in his life pose an issue. He’s had none so far. He is the only one of his siblings that Carries the gene.

Asher is a very confident, wiggly guy who loves every dog he ever meets, and people too! He is a professional puppy dog eye giver, and often uses those sad peepers to win over hearts. He was the largest remaining boy of the surviving pups, and once they hit a few weeks old, he became the heavy weight champ and remained there permanently.

Asher’s new mom has been patiently waiting for him to join her home, and today he got to do just that.

He’ll be coming to visit us often and will have the love of a new home, his first home, and the love of all of us here who have been a part of his life.

We are so thankful to his forever mom For choosing to open her home and heart to adopting an Angel in need. And for vowing to give him a life worthy of all he is. He is a miracle. Now and always.

Happiest tails, brave, strong, handsome Asher. You are so, so very loved

Diamond - Adopted 9/23/2022

Today is September 23. Today is 369 days since Diamond joined us at the Haven. 369 she patiently waited, being loved by us and by her fosters, to finally find the home she deserved.

Today, Diamond got her forever.

Diamond arrived last year and has been constantly passed over or overlooked. We aren’t sure why. Because the girl is the cuddliest, most loving girl. She didn’t want to share her home with other animals, but she has absolutely more than enough love to give her people. They will never have one doubt that she is grateful, that she loves them. People are her jam. She enjoys any attention you will give her. And we are so beyond thrilled and thankful that she will now have all the attention and joy she could ever dream of.

We are so very thankful to her foster mom for spending the last months making sure she has been prepared for life with her new family. For nursing her through her eye surgery. For being patient along with Diamond and us, that her home was out there waiting for her.

We are so very grateful to her new family. For choosing to give this beautiful soul a place in their home and hearts. For wanting her to be a part of their family and lives. For realizing that sometimes the one who has been waiting the longest, is the one that is the perfect fit. Our hearts are so full for the three of you. We thank you from every one of us, for choosing to adopt an Angel. This Angel.

Diamond girl—may you have all the yummies you wish, all the toys your heart can handle, and all the adventures you’ve been waiting for. You’re home baby girl. Happy tails.

Pip - Adopted 9/11/2022

It was super Sunday for Pip today!

Pip was a recent addition to our adoptable dogs and it didn’t take her long to find her forever! She is about 2.5 years old and an amazing girl, and we just knew her home was out there!

We are very grateful for the care and love she has been given until she could find her forever home.

We are extremely thankful to her new family for choosing to open their home and hearts to adopting an Angel in need. Pip was excited to meet her new family and fell in love with her new human sister immediately and showered her with kisses. She will get more attention and snuggles than she’ll know what to do with. We wish all of you the most love and joy that life can offer you!

Happy tails, beautiful! You’re home!

Layla - Adopted 9/9/2022

Layla is starting off the weekend in the best way possible, with a forever home!

Layla is a recent addition to the Haven. After living a life where her needs weren’t being met, living basically outside by herself, covered in fleas, without proper food and water, a very kind hearted person acquired her, took her into their home and then contacted us so we could be certain she would only know comfort and love from here on out.

As soon as we were contacted, we knew of an adopter who had been waiting for the perfect dog for them—and we had no doubt it was her.

Layla is such an amazingly sweet girl. It takes her a few moments to decide you’re ok, but then she’s glued to your side for all of time.

We are so thankful for her foster home for saving her, for letting her live and be loved in their home, and for giving her a chance to find her forever love.

We are so grateful to her new home for not hesitating and opening their home and hearts to adopting an Angel in need. She has some kitty siblings and will receive all the love any dog can ask for.

We wish all of you the absolute best life can bring, all the Tummy rubs and ear scratches a dog can dream of, and all the love you can handle.

Happiest tails, beautiful girl. It’s your time to shine!

Cocoa - Adopted 9/8/2022

Cocoa is celebrating Thankful Thursday!

Cocoa came to us last year as a pup and was adopted shortly after. She recently returned to the Haven after her adopter developed very serious health issues and wanted to make sure she was taken care of.

Today, she was welcomed into her final forever!

We are so thankful to her foster home—the first one and her current one, for giving her a place to call her temporary home until her forever was found. Our fosters are the main reason we’re able to rescue.

We are extremely grateful to her new family! For choosing to once again open their home and hearts to adopting another Angel in need. She has an amazing mom and dad, and some great extended family. She also has her very own fur sister—who was adopted from Abby’s as well.

We wish all of you the absolute most joy and happiness life can bring, and every day filled with pure love.

Happy tails, baby! You’re loved and home.

Harper - Adopted 9/6/2022

Harper found her sweet forever today!

Harper arrived two months ago after being found as a stray in SC at just a little over three months old. She quickly showed her personality to be fun, spunky and full of joy. She adores everyone!

We are so thankful to her foster home, for providing the tools she needed to be successful and for showering her daily with love and affection and helping her gain the confidence she needed.

We are so very grateful to her new family, for choosing to open their home and hearts to adopting an Angel in need. She has her very own Hooman brother who she seems completely smitten with already. The kisses were not in short supply.

We wish all of you the absolute most joy and happiness your life can bring. Spend each day with laughter and love in your hearts.

Happy tails, sweet Harper! You are loved!

Senna - Adopted 9/1/2022

The second Miracle Pup, Senna, joined her forever family today.

Senna was one of 14 babies that our Ruthie carried. Ruthie’s uterus became too thin, trying to carry that many pups and a c-section was performed. Had we not done the surgery, we would have lost Ruthie and every single one of her babies.

Unfortunately, it meant that her babies were born prematurely. Five were stillborn. We almost lost this very girl, beautiful Senna (Sennie Sue to her besties). She was the tiniest pup weighing in at only 6.7 ounces and she immediately was placed on oxygen because she was unable to breathe on her own the first few hours.

Later that day, Nine including Senna, were discharged with their mom.

Senna is a sweet, cuddly, confident and at times, instigating little munchkin. She proved early on that she would fight her way through whatever comes her way. From the smallest pup for weeks, to now the tallest, she is a survivor. She ADORES other dogs and People. She loves cuddles, loves to play and jump, loves kisses, and loves to run and play tug.

She now has an amazing mom, two doggo siblings—one who is also an AAAH alum. She has a fenced yard to run to her hearts content. She has her own pool, and also a beach house for vacations. She is already loved.

We are so thankful to her forever family For choosing to open their home and hearts to adopting another Angel in need. And for vowing to give her a life worthy of all she is. She is a miracle. Now and always.

Happiest tails, brave, strong, beautiful Senna. You are so, so very loved.

Amelia - Adopted 8/31/2022

Amelia stopped by the office today to say it’s been real, but peace out… I’m going to my forever!

Amelia came to PA from SC in early July after being found as a stray and still being just a baby at around 3 months old. She finished her vetting, learned some new tricks, did excellently with her training, and found her forever!

We are so very thankful to her foster homes for offering to give her a safe, loving place to stay while she received vet care, teaching her how to dog, and then as waited for her family to find her.

We are so grateful to her new family for choosing to open their home and hearts to adopting an Angel in need. Amelia will have two great parents and a fur brother to spend each of her days with, playing and being best friends.

We wish all of you the most amazing journey together filled with happiness and love every moment.

Happy tails baby girl, you are loved!

Daisy - Adopted 8/30/2022

Tongue out Tuesday brought Daisy her forever home!

Daisy is a Mastiff who came from an Amish breeder in Ohio who no longer had use for her when she couldn’t provide enough milk to sustain litters of puppies.

She came to us and we couldn’t believe how amazingly perfect she was. She had all of her vetting completed, learned proper house etiquette since she hadn’t lived in one, picked up tricks, commands and leash walking in no time. She loved kids, made friends with cats, met some goats, and loved her some dog friends. She’s never met a person she couldn’t win over either.

She had some apps and even some scheduled adoptions that just didn’t work out…. But as we’ve learned, things work out the way they’re supposed to. She found the perfect mom and family to love her forever.

We are so thankful to her foster family for providing her a safe place to learn how to be a dog, to learn to be loved and to teach her to live her life to the fullest.

We are so very grateful to her new mom, for choosing to open her home and heart to adopting an Angel in need. We have zero doubts that you’ll ever have a day that is not filled with love and smiles as long as you have each other.

We wish you All the paws, treats, drool and belly rubs you could ever dream of, beautiful girl. You are so very loved.

Ranger - Adopted 8/29/2022

Ranger came to PA in March. He went to the vet in SC  when he was heartworm positive for a neuter surgery. Unfortunately, the surgery and anesthesia was more than his body was prepared to handle and his heart started failing. He was placed on medications immediately to help lower his blood pressure, help his heart not have to work so hard, and to get rid of any excess fluid building up. The shelter then reached out to us as possibly being a fospice for him.

We found a foster willing to open her home, and he begin his forever journey. Ranger completed his heartworm treatment and then began working on weaning off his medications to see if his heart had healed any.

Thankfully, it had. His murmur is now nonexistent. He is down to half of one medication and working towards being medication free. His arteries are no longer severely inflamed. His heart is pumping normally. He was ready for a new home.

Ranger now has a home where he will have someone with him at all times. Where he is now the only doggo and will get all the attention until he is completely healed up and where he will be spoiled forever.

We are so very thankful to his foster home for providing a place to safely heal and learn to be loved until it was time for the next part of his journey. Without foster homes, he and so many others would never have their chance at life.

We are so very grateful to his new family for opening their home and hearts to adopting an Angel in need.

We wish the three of you the absolute most joy and happiness that life can offer.

Happy tails, Ranger. You are loved!

Leah - Adopted 8/28/2022

The very first Miracle Pup, Leah, joined her forever family today.

Leah was one of 14 babies that Ruthie carried. Ruthie’s uterus became too thin, trying to carry that many pups and a C-section was performed. Had we not done the surgery, we would have lost Ruthie and every single one of her babies.

Who made baby steps each day in the hardest, most exhausting fight for life. 5 little miracles who proved they wanted this life, just as much as we wanted it for them. They fought, I fought. And we finally made it together.

Leah is a sweet, sleepy little munchkin. She proved early on that nap time is one of her most favorite times. She ADORES other dogs. She loves cuddles, loves to play and jump, loves kisses, and loves to run.

Leah found her family pretty early on, and they have been patiently waiting for her to arrive.

She now has an amazing mom and dad, two doggo siblings—one who she decided is already her BFF, and a human brother. She has a fenced yard to run to her hearts content. She is already loved.

We are so thankful to her forever family for their patience. For choosing to open their home and hearts to adopting an Angel in need. And for vowing to give her a life worthy of all she is. She is a miracle. Now and always.

Happiest tails, sweetest girl. You are so, so very loved.
